PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a device to be operated by a user between multiple devices.SOLUTION: An MFP includes: a first server part 59 functioning as a server to be remotely controlled by a client; a first client part 61 functioning as a client to remotely control the server; a first selection part 63 for selecting one of a first state where the first server part 59 communicates with the client and a second state where the first client part 61 communicates with the server; a first display control part 55 for displaying its own device operation screen and a remote control screen simultaneously when the second state is selected; and a position detection part 67 for detecting the existence of a portable information device within a predetermined range from its own device. The first selection part 63 selects the second state on condition that the existence of the portable information device within the predetermined range is detected.
