摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition for an internal combustion engine that is capable of sufficiently reducing friction under mixed lubrication conditions and has excellent fuel efficiency.SOLUTION: A lubricant composition for an internal combustion engine contains, in (A) a base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100°C of 2 to 8 mm/s and an aromatic content of 10 mass% or less, (B) a metal detergent in which the metal ratio is 1.01 to 3.3 and that is overbased by alkaline earth metal borate and (C) an organic molybdenum compound that is 0.01 to 0.2 mass% based on molybdenum content with reference to the total composition amount, wherein the lubricant composition has a HTHS viscosity at 100°C of 5.5 mPa s or less.
