PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preliminarily prevent a wrong action intended to take away a rental medium due to the duplicate insertion of the rental medium.SOLUTION: The projection height of a medium stopper 2 projecting from a lower inclined plane 101 to the inside of a medium conveyance path 103 is formed so as to be not more than the thickness of a rental medium 112b which is the thinnest among rental media 112 as rental objects, and a normally-closed type preliminary stopper 3 which opens and closes the medium conveyance path 103 is disposed at the downstream of a passage detection sensor 107 positioned at the downstream of the medium stopper 2, and disposed at the upstream of security release means 109, and the medium stopper 2 and the preliminary stopper 3 are saved as long as it is confirmed that an insertion side end face 113 of the rental medium 112 is butted to the medium stopper 2, and that the insertion side end face 113 of the rental medium 112 has not been moved to the downstream across the position of the medium stopper 2 under such situations that it is determined that a bar code 114 of the rental medium 112 is proper. |
