PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling power to mitigate interference in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to control power according to communication environment. CONSTITUTION: A backhaul communication unit (220) receives interference information reflected with resource usage rate from at least one adjacent base station. A control unit (240) calculates yield change rate of the adjacent base station by assuming that the base station changed power, using the interference information. The control unit calculates yield change rate of a terminal connected to the base station, by assuring that the base station changes the power. The control unit controls power for the terminal, by using the yield change rate of the adjacent base station and the yield change rate of the terminal.
