PURPOSE: An electronic parking brake system is provided to control the releasing operation of a parking brake by determining the release sate by monitoring a current of a motor. CONSTITUTION: An electronic parking brake system includes a parking brake, a current detector(40), a controller(10), and a voltage detector(50). The parking brake generates a braking force by the driving of a motor. The current detector detects the current applied to the motor. The controller controls the releasing operation of the parking brake according to the monitoring result. The voltage detector detects the voltage applied to the motor. The controller monitors the current applied to the motor from the reference point corresponding to the detected voltage of the motor when the parking brake is released. |
