PURPOSE: A three-dimensional image generation method based on the interaction with a user and an apparatus thereof are provided to quickly and accurately segment at least one subject included in a two-dimensional image, to produce a layer of at least one segmented subject each and to appropriately arrange and process the produced layer on a screen, thereby providing a three-dimensional image of the subject. CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional image generation apparatus receives image input and user input (S100, S200). The three-dimensional image generation apparatus segments a subject which is included in the image input based on the received user input and corrects an area of the segmented subject (S300, S400). The three-dimensional image generation apparatus constructs a layer of the segmented subject based on the corrected area and generates a three-dimensional image based on the constructed layer (S500, S600).
