PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate load of a printer and archive continuous printing by controlling printing time at a host side and controlling transmission timing of a request signal for the state of a reception buffer.SOLUTION: A host side device transmits a request signal for the use state of a data buffer of a printer at the early stage of printing. The printer receives the request signal from the host side device. The host side device receives the use state of the data buffer from the printer and outputs print data having a data amount corresponding to the received use state of the data buffer to the printer. The host side device transmits a request signal of the state of a data buffer after outputting the print data, and calculates a printing time duration T of the print data being printed on the basis of stored printing parameters. The device outputs print data having a data amount corresponding to the received use state of the data buffer before completion of printing on the basis of the calculated printing time duration of the print data. |
