PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frost formation detection device capable of improving detecting accuracy of frost formation on an evaporator of a heat exchanger.SOLUTION: A frost formation detection device 10 includes an ultrasonic wave generation source 1 for irradiating ultrasonic waves while relatively moving at constant velocity with respect to an evaporator 20, a receiving part 2 for receiving ultrasonic waves irradiated from the ultrasonic wave generation source 1, and a detection part 3 for detecting frost formation on the evaporator 20 based on the ultrasonic waves received in the receiving part 2. |
