PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently deodorizing granulated substance of sludge formed by drying and granulating organic sludge and mainly used as fuel.SOLUTION: At least one of an alkali metal hydroxide, an alkaline-earth metal hydroxide and an alkali metal salt is added to a raw material hydrated sludge (sludge cake) of a granulated substance of sludge, or the granulated substance of sludge is brought into contact with at least one of the alkali metal hydroxide, the alkaline-earth metal hydroxide and the alkali metal salt together with water, so that acid substance such as a lower fatty acid generated from sludge and comparatively hard to be deodorized by active carbon is converted into substance such as an odorless or low-odor alkali metal salt or alkaline-earth metal salt by a neutralization reaction under the water, and thereafter a necessary amount of active carbon is made to be present on the surface of the granulated substance of sludge, and by using its adsorption power, the granulated substance of sludge is efficiently made completely or almost odorless. |
