PURPOSE: A vibration motor and a portable terminal including the same are provided to support the arrangement of components within a terminal by using a motor which has lateral vibration. CONSTITUTION: A vibration motor (300) comprises a housing (310), a coil (360), a moving unit (320), and elastic members (351, 352). The housing is formed to restrict inner space which includes a first side or a fourth side except for an upper surface and a lower surface. The coil is formed in the housing. The moving unit is moved in the inner space along the change of an electromagnetic field generated by the coil. The elastic members are individually arranged between the first side and the third side of the moving unit. The elastic members are fixed at one end of a second side and a fourth side in the housing.
