PURPOSE: A charger of an electric vehicle and a charging current setting method thereof are provided to protect an internal module of the charger from contamination factors such as dust and moisture by not using a separate external port in an environment without charging infrastructure and not opening an enclosure of the charger. CONSTITUTION: A charger (100) of an electric vehicle includes an RFID reader (110) which is arranged in a main body of the charger and obtains tag data from an RFID tag; a memory part (120) which stores the tag data obtained from the RFID reader; and a control part (140) which stores the obtained tag data in the memory part and sets a charging condition of the electric vehicle using the stored tag data.
