A method for displaying additional information and a video apparatus using the same are provided to offer a desired type of additional information to a user if the user selects the display mode of additional information of a desired channel, thereby reducing unnecessary additional information display and search time delay to improve user's convenience. A method for displaying additional information comprises the following steps of: filtering a specific type of channels by referring to a channel map in which information about the PID(Packet Identifier) of each channel is included(S202,S205,S208); reconfiguring the additional information of the filtered channels(S204,S207,S209); and displaying the reconfigured additional information(S210). The PID information is one of information about the presence of video-PID, audio-PID, and data-PID in the broadcasting signal of the each channel. |
