The method involves determining a hearing profile of a person by making the person to listen to sound signals chosen from a one selected sound environment existing in a space i.e. passenger compartment (H). A sound correction filter is determined based on the determined hearing profile, and the sound signals are adapted into a sound diffusion system (SD) as a function of the sound correction filter before the sound signals are distributed in the passenger compartment for the person, where ambient sound is determined in real-time by a microphone (MI) installed in the passenger compartment. An independent claim is also included for a processing device for adapting sound signals to be broadcast by a sound diffusion system in a space.
