A transmission device connected with a reception device via an HDMI(High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable, and its control method are provided to transmit a remote controller control signal, which has been received by a transmission device, to a reception device by using an I2C line installed in an HDMI cable. A signal receiving unit(110) receives a control signal from a remote controller. A conversion unit(120) converts the received control signal into a signal that can be processed by a reception device. An I2C master interface(150) transmits the converted control signal to the reception device via an I2C line of an HDMI cable. The reception device includes an I2C slave interface for receiving the control signal from the transmission device via the I2C line, and a controller for performing a controlling operation according to the received control signal. |
