PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of effectively notifying a user of cleaning of each charging member while reducing a cost.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: first to third charging members (wire electrodes 521) for charging first to third photoreceptors (a photoreceptor drum 51) by corona discharge; first voltage applying means (a first charging bias applying circuit 111) for applying voltage to the first and second charging members connected in parallel; second voltage applying means (a second charging bias applying circuit 112) for applying voltage to the third charging member; and a control device 130 which controls the first voltage applying means so that the smallest electric current among electric currents flowing through the first and second charging members becomes a predetermined electric current value. The control device 130 performs error printing control which lowers the voltage of the first voltage applying means and prints information indicating cleaning of the first and second charging members on a recording sheet by the third photoreceptor when the electric current flowed through one of the first and second charging members exceeds an upper limit value. |
