PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a polyethylene-based resin composition for a film that shows excellent hand slice and impact resistance, and in which an environmental load is decreased by containing the polyolefin resin of a plant origin by the amount of 20-70 mass% based on the entire film; and a sealant film for a packaging material using the same.SOLUTION: A polyethylene-based resin composition for a film includes: (a) 20-70 mass% of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) of a plant origin; (b) 15-65 mass% of low density polyethylene (LDPE) of a non-plant origin that has physical properties in which the density is 0.920-0.933 kg/mand the MFR is 0.5-3.5 g/10 minutes; (c) 15-65 mass% of LLDPE of a non-plant origin that is a copolymer of ethylene and a 6C α-olefin that has physical properties in which the density is 0.914-0.937 kg/mand the MFR is 0.9-4.5 g/10 minute; and 0-20 mass% of an additive, wherein the total of (a)-(d) is 100 mass%.
