PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an interpolation frame (Im) with no image disturbance by correctly interpolating an occlusion area where occlusion by a foreground object occurs.SOLUTION: For each pixel positioned inside an occlusion area, a motion vector for a pixel positioned outside the occlusion area is extracted as a candidate vector (54). On the basis of a difference between pixel values of pixels on mutually different frames corresponding to the extracted candidate vector, it is determined whether the candidate vector is a motion vector for a background pixel, and a candidate vector determined as a motion vector for a background pixel is output (55). |
