The invention relates to a lighting device (1) with a pump laser matrix (2) and a luminescent substance arrangement (4) for generating mixed light with a color control system. The luminescent substance arrangement comprises at least two different luminescent substances which form a luminescent substance pattern. The color is controlled by controlling (20) the pump radiation pattern on the luminescent substance pattern in a controlled manner. Thus, the proportional contribution of the color light components to the mixed light is controlled, said color light components being generated by the individual luminescent substances by means of a wavelength conversion of the pump radiation, and consequently the color point of the mixed light is also controlled.
