[Problem] To provide a wheel bearing device in which the rotation torque of a seal is reduced while the bearing performance is maintained, and in which fluidity of the grease is suppressed and no mixing takes place with the bearing grease. [Solution] This invention is constituted by an annular seal plate (16) and a slinger (17). The seal plate (16) comprises a core metal (18) and a seal member (19). The slinger (17) has: a cylindrical part (17a) which is press-fitted into an inner ring (3); and an upright plate part (17b) extending outwards with respect to the radial direction. The seal member (19) has a side lip (19a), which is in sliding contact with the upright plate part (17b), and radial lips (19b, 19c), which are in sliding contact with the cylindrical part (17a). The wheel bearing device is provided with: bearing grease sealed in the wheel bearing; and sealing grease applied to the sliding contact part of the seal lips. Both types of grease have an identical thickener, a worked penetration of no greater than 350, and a base oil kinetic viscosity at 40°C set to a range of 30 to 170 mm2/s. The base oil kinetic viscosity of the sealing grease is set to no greater than 70% of that of the bearing grease. |
