<p>The invention concerns an ornamental device (1) comprising at least one cut or polished stone (2) having at least one rear portion (23). This ornamental device (1) is characterised in that it further comprises: a protection means (3) for at least partially protecting the rear portion (23) of the stone (2) against the deposition of dirt, said protection means (3) adopting the shape of this rear portion (23) of the stone (2) and fitted to the rear portion (23) of the stone (2) without adhering thereto; means (5) for preventing a body from penetrating between the rear portion (23) of the stone (2) and the protection means (3) for protecting said rear portion (23) of the stone (2) and/or for preventing such a body from being discharged from an inner volume (4) defined between the rear portion (23) of the stone (2) and the protection means (3) for protecting said rear portion (23) of the stone (2); a means for attaching the protection means (3) onto the stone (2) in order to protect the rear portion (23) of said stone (2).
