[Problem] To provide an economical capacitor-type welding device and capacitor-type welding method having little power loss, that can be made more compact, and that reliably control a charging circuit without being affected by the inductance of a charging path. [Solution] A capacitor-type welding device and a capacitor-type welding method whereby: a bypass switch element (5) having a forward-blocking function is connected in parallel straddling between output terminals (3, 4) in a charging circuit (2); the bypass switch element (5) is made conductive so as to cause a backflow current, flowing by magnetic energy stored in the inductance of a first wound line (6a) or an inductor (14) included in the charging path, to bypass from the charging circuit; and a discharge switch element (8) is made conductive, after the bypass switch element (5) is made non-conductive and the forward-blocking function is recovered. |
