PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which an electrolytic solution is hardly decomposed even when charging/discharging is performed at a high voltage.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of the present invention includes a cathode containing a cathode active material which expresses a potential of 4.5 V or higher based on metal lithium, an anode, and a nonaqueous electrolytic solution in which an electrolyte is dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent. A fluorine-containing phosphate is used as the whole or a part of the nonaqueous electrolytic solution.
