PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector in which life of a light source lamp is prolonged, and restoration of luminance is fast.SOLUTION: A projector includes a light source lamp, a cooling device which blows cooling air to cool the light source lamp and a controller. The controller includes: a mode setting unit which sets a power mode to a normal mode or a standby mode; a light source control unit which controls power of the light source lamp according to the power mode; and a cooling control unit which controls cooling air flow according to the power mode. A first standby mode for lowering the power to be supplied to the light source lamp than in the normal mode, and a second standby mode for stopping supply of the power to the light source lamp after elapse of predetermined time are set in the light source control unit when the power mode is set to the standby mode. The cooling control unit makes the cooling air flow into first air flow less than that in the normal mode in the first standby mode, and makes the cooling air flow into second air flow which is more than that in the normal mode in the second standby mode. |
