PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel foil having high strength at high temperatures, excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures, and excellent resistance to salt corrosion, and a catalyst carrier for an exhaust emission control system that uses the foil.SOLUTION: A stainless steel foil is characterized by containing, by mass, not more than 0.05% C, not more than 2.0% Si, not more than 1.0% Mn, not more than 0.003% S, not more than 0.05% P, over 15.0% but less than 25.0% Cr, not more than 0.30% Ni, 3.0 to 10.0% Al, 0.03 to 1.0% Cu, not more than 0.10% N, not more than 0.02% Ti, not more than 0.02% Nb, not more than 0.02% Ta, 0.005 to 0.20% Zr, 0.03 to 0.20% REM, excluding Ce, not more than 0.02% Ce, and 2.0 to 6.0% Mo and/or W in total, with the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities. |
