<p>The invention relates to a method of isolating cymene comprising the following steps: a) providing a solution comprising cymene and monoterpenes, b) adding sulphuric acid to the solution in a) such that the concentration of sulphuric acid in the solution is at least 0.5% (w/w), such as 1-25% (w/w), c) distilling the solution mixture from step b) such that a target chemical stream enriched in cymene is obtained and separated from a residual stream.</p> |
