PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of optimizing a surface state of a printing surface without preparing an exclusive ribbon cassette for each surface state of a desired printing surface; and to provide a printer capable of automatically changing a surface state of a printing surface according to printing contents without changing the ribbon cassette.SOLUTION: A printer 10, which is a thermal transfer type printer for printing on a sheet 1 by using an ink ribbon 23, includes: a platen roller 15Y arranged near a conveyance route of the sheet 1 for conveying the sheet 1 and the ink ribbon 23; a thermal head 16Y arranged to face to the platen roller 15Y for heating ink of the ink ribbon 23 and transferring the ink to the sheet 1; and a separating plate 17Y for separating the ink ribbon 23 from the sheet 1. The separating plate 17Y can change a separating position where the separating plate 17Y separates the ink ribbon 23 from the sheet 1. |
