摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a hybrid vehicle with a power split mechanism.SOLUTION: An engine 11 and a motor generator M2 are connected through a power split mechanism 12. The engine 11 is connected to a carrier 15, the motor generator M2 is connected to a first sun gear 17, and a drive wheel is connected to a ring gear 23. A clutch CL3 is provided for connecting a second sun gear 18 and the ring gear 23, and a clutch CL4 is provided for connecting the second sun gear 18 and a case 26. When the clutch CL4 is connected, velocity of engine power is increased and is transmitted to the ring gear 23 (OD2 Mode), and when the clutch CL3 is connected, the engine power is transmitted to the ring gear 23 with a constant velocity (Direct connection Mode). Though the power split mechanism 12 is locked when the clutches CL3 and CL4 are engaged, double engaging of the clutches CL3 and CL4 is structurally avoided since the clutches CL3 and CL4 are switched by one synchronizing sleeve 30.
