PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and low-cost imaging device capable of obtaining a video with little sense of incongruity even when an ND filter is inserted and extracted during photographing of a moving image.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an exposure state determination unit 112 which determines an exposure state; an exposure control unit 102 which adjusts the exposure according to the exposure state; an ND filter (ND insertion and extraction mechanism 202) which can be inserted and extracted in an optical path for exposure adjustment; and an ND control unit 111 which determines whether to insert and extract the ND filter on the basis of prescribed conditions during photographing of a moving image. If the prescribed conditions are met, the exposure control unit 102 adjusts the exposure using the ND filter. If the prescribed conditions are not met, the exposure control unit 102 adjusts the exposure without using the ND filter.
