A liquid crystal display panel (100A) has a first substrate (10A) and a second substrate (20A) disposed so as to oppose each other across a liquid crystal layer (30A), an opposing electrode (24) formed on either the first or second substrate (10A, 20A), a first alignment film (16a) formed on the liquid crystal layer (30A) side of the first substrate (10A), and a second alignment film (26a) formed on the liquid crystal layer (30A) side of the second substrate (20A). Among the pixels, the liquid crystal layer (30A) has a low pretilt area (R1a) and a high pretilt area (R2a) having different sized pretilt angles of liquid crystal molecules (32), the opposing electrode (24) has a plurality of secondary opposing electrodes electrically independent of each other, and the plurality of secondary opposing electrodes have a first secondary opposing electrode (24a) corresponding to the low pretilt area (R1a) and a second secondary opposing electrode (24b) corresponding to the high pretilt area (R2a). |
