A composite substrate is configured to include a moisture-proof substrate (1), and a resin substrate (2) that is bonded to a surface of the moisture-proof substrate (1). In a plan view, the resin substrate (2) is configured to be smaller in size than the moisture-proof substrate (1). An end side (2b) of the resin substrate (2) is an inwardly inclined surface. In an organic electroluminescence device, an organic light-emitting laminate (10) disposed on a surface of the resin substrate (2) is sealed by a sealant (7). In the resin substrate (2), at least part of a portion where an electrode lead-out portion (8) is not formed is covered by a moisture-proof film (6). It is possible to form an organic electroluminescent element whose degradation is reduced by effectively inhibiting moisture penetration. It is possible to obtain a highly reliable organic electroluminescence device. |
