<p>The present invention is a stud (100) for use on a surface over which a vehicle passes. The stud has a casing (10) that encloses a visible radiation source (60) which is adapted to scan visible radiation so that, in use, visible radiation is projected onto the surface extending from the stud to a distance exceeding 0.1m. Power is supplied to the laser via a rechargeable battery (70) which receives charging current form a photovoltaic cell (20) mounted on the stud. There is an optional associated safety system comprising a plurality of studs, characterised in that in use light links from one stud to another.</p> |
