An expansion joint (1) installed between a steam turbine exit and a condenser entrance comprises: an upstream baffle pipe (11) having an end fixed as an upstream-side fixed end (11a) and the other free end (11b), the upstream baffle pipe (11) forming a stream path; a downstream baffle pipe (13) having an end as a downstream-side fixed end (13a) and the other free end (13b), the free end (13b) being movable relative to the outside of the free end (11b) of the upstream baffle pipe (11); and a flexible cylindrical body (15) which is made of a nonmetallic material using a resin sheet and is able to be transformed while hermetically surrounding the outside of the baffle pipes (11, 13).
