PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of realizing a cylinder deactivation system without increasing sliding resistance in reduced-cylinder operation.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine includes a camshaft capable of switching between a state where the whole of the camshaft revolves and valves of all cylinders are driven and the state where a part of the camshaft is separated, the part is not revolved, and some valves of the cylinders associated with the part are not driven. The camshaft is equipped with a drive-side shaft 43, a driven-side shaft 45, a driven piece 47, a claw clutch 50, and a sleeve 49. |
