PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the need of troublesome mounting work requiring much time, to accurately check an illumination device in an elevator car, and to perform remote monitoring of the illumination device.SOLUTION: A device for checking illumination of an elevator includes a power-off means 10 to individually change over power feed to power shutoff and vice versa for each of luminaires 8a-8c installed in a car 6 of the elevator; an imaging device 12 for imaging the inside of the car 6 under illumination light by the luminaires 8a-8c to output image data thereof; and an image processing part 11b for subjecting the image data to image analysis to detect brightness; wherein the luminaires 8a-8b are lit one by one by the changeover of the power-off means 10, imaging by the imaging device 12 is sequentially performed while the others are extinguished, and a lighting condition of each of the luminaires 8a-8c is measured based on the brightness of the image data to detect normality/failure of each of the luminaires 8a-8c. |
