PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is necessary to have an impact energy absorbing member in addition to a resin component in order to further acquire an impact energy absorbing load.SOLUTION: In a position adjustable steering column device for a vehicle which can adjust the position of an inner column in the axial direction to an outer column by reducing or expanding the diameter of an inner peripheral surface of an outer column, a bush is fixed to the inner peripheral surface of the outer column, one side of the bush in the axial direction is turned back to the outside diameter side to provide a flange, an inside diameter side projected shape is formed in a part sliding along an outer circumferential part of the inner column over the telescopic operation range of the bush, the flange turned back to the outside diameter side is engaged with an inside diameter side groove, and at a secondary collision of the vehicle, the inside diameter-side projected shape is deformed by the inner column as the flange turned back to the outside diameter side is stopped at the end of the outer column. |
