PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily calculate the skew amount of a document.SOLUTION: An image reader for reading an image of a conveyed document comprises: a document guide member for guiding the conveyed document to a reading position; an image reading unit which reads plural marks arranged on the contact surface of the document guide member to be brought into contact with the document, at predetermined intervals in a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction of the document and the image of the document guided by the document guide member, with the marks; and a document end state detection unit which detects at least two positions where the images of the marks come to disappear due to the document, in the image of the marks and the document read by the image reading unit and calculates the skew amount of the document. |
