发明名称 Improvements relating to control apparatus for reversible electrically propelled locomotives
摘要 624,057. Fluid pressure-operated brakes. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd. June 6, 1947, No. 14965. Convention date, June 28, 1946. [Class 103 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXI and XXXVII] Relates to control apparatus for reversible electrically - propelled locomotives (see Group XXXI), in which fluidoperated locomotive brakes, direction of travel and speed of travel are controlled by a lever 125 being moved into one of four slots 131 ... 134 in a cover plate 130 and combined with a driver's automatic brake valve device 67, 66 of the known ET type. The lever 125 may operate the locomotive brakes independent of the seating of the lever 145 of the device 67. When the lever 125 is moved into the slot 133 and the lever 115 is in its running position, the lever 125 turns about a pivot 126 and its lower end pushes to the left a shaft 121 within a sleeve 120. This movement of the shaft 121 operates a self-lapping valve 151 by an arm 158 through a follower 154, allowing pressure fluid into a passage 152 and a cavity 159. A valve 161 is opened by this movement of the shaft 121 by means of a pivoted lever 166 and allows pressure fluid to pass into a passage 163 and a line 109 into a passage 108 in the distributing valve device 66. Since the lever 115 is in its running position, the main slide valve 102 will allow pressure fluid to pass into the passage 83 to a control chamber 81, causing the locomotive brake 78 to be applied to the extent of the movement of the lever 125 in the slot 133. Returning the lever 125 to its neutral position allows the expiration of pressure fluid for the release of the brake through the valve 151. When the lever 115 is used to apply the brakes of the train and the lever 125 is in either slots 131, 132, or its neutral position, the pressure fluid is released from the passage 163 from the line 109 through a valve 170 and through a line 111 and a vent port 114 in the device 67. The valve 170 is operated by a lever 176 pivoted at one end and movable with the shaft 121 at its other end and this valve is in its open position when the lever 125 is in its neutral position. When the lever 115 is used to apply the brakes of the locomotive and the vehicles of the train, it may be necessary to release and subsequently re-apply the brakes of the locomotive independently of the vehicles. This is effected by a valve 180 and a check valve 181. The valve 180 is closed for all positions of the lever 125 except when the latter is moved into the slot 134, whereby the shaft 121 is moved to the right and a lever 184 opens the valve 180 against the action of a spring 188, and allows expiration of pressure fluid from the control chamber 81 to atmosphere effecting release of the locomotive brakes. With the equalizing portion 70 of the device 66 in its lapping position due to the position of the lever 115, the locomotive brake 78 may be re-applied by moving the lever 125 into the slot 133, allowing pressure fluid to pass from the selflapping valve 151 to the passage 152 through the valve 161 to the passage 163 past the check valve 181 to a passage 183 to the control chamber 81. The check valve 181 further prevents escape of fluid pressure from the passage 183 to the passage 163.
