The invention relates to a projection device, comprising a micromirror apparatus for deflecting a laser beam produced by a laser apparatus onto a projection surface arranged at a projection distance from the projection device, an adjustable lens apparatus that is arranged between the laser apparatus and the micromirror apparatus and designed to adjust a beam diameter of the laser beam, and a control apparatus that is coupled to the adjustable lens apparatus and designed to control the adjustable lens apparatus in such a way that a specified pixel diameter on the projection surface can be achieved by means of the adjusted beam diameter of the laser beam.
