Provided is a display device for a vehicle with which unintended momentary blinking can be prevented when a user of the vehicle performs a light adjustment operation. This display device for a vehicle is equipped with: a luminescent display means (11) that emits light to display a display image (L) showing vehicle information; a power supply circuit (13) that supplies a driving voltage to the luminescent display means (11); and a control means (14) that issues a control signal that adjusts the light emission intensity of the luminescent display means (11) on the basis of a signal from an operating switch (15), which can be operated manually by the vehicle user. The control means (14) is capable of issuing control signals that prompts the adjustment of the light emission intensity, including turning off the light, and when the luminescent display means (11) transitions from the lighted state to the unlit state, the control means disables the operation of turning on the light for a prescribed period of time after the aforementioned transition. |
