PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise effectively without lowering the continuous shooting speed (frame rate).SOLUTION: Each pixel has a photoelectric conversion element 303a for converting light into charges, and a transfer gate 302a for transferring the charges to a floating node 306a. In a first read mode, a first output signal is read from the floating node while turning the transfer gate on for the N-th pixel (N is an integer of 1 or more). In a second read mode, a second output signal is read from the floating node while turning the transfer gate off for the N-th pixel. The first output signal is corrected by using the second output signal as a correction signal, thus obtaining an image signal. |
