PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase rigidity by enlarging an area of a closed section part while controlling weight increase in a side member structure for a vehicle as much as possible.SOLUTION: A single joint flange 5 is formed and composed by making a side member body 2 that has a closed section part 6 of a rectangular shape by press molding a single flat plate 10, and by connecting and welding etc. of a straight shape end 61a of a vehicle body outside vertical wall part 61 that composes the closed section part 6 and a bend end 62a of a vehicle body upside lateral wall part 62. The joint flange 5 is disposed on an extension of the vehicle body outside vertical wall part 61 in the closed section part 6 of the side member body 2 by wearing a strut housing 1 on the joint flange 5, and further, is composed by additionally installing a reinforcement 4 to an inner wall surface of the vehicle body upside lateral wall part 62 that composes the closed section part 6 and a vehicle body inside vertical wall 63. |
