PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute highly precise calibration in a calibration using a density sensor.SOLUTION: An image processing device measures a density of a gradation pattern recorded on a recording medium by differentiating the amount of a recording material by an optical sensor using an optical source emitting light of a predetermined wavelength region, and uses a calibration function for correcting recording data by an output correction means so that an image of the gradation pattern becomes a target density, which is a recording density as a target based on a measuring density, which is a measured density. The image processing device has a switching means for switching the output correction means at a boundary gradation value, which is a predetermined gradation value. An output correction of gradation equal to or lower than the boundary gradation value includes a first correction means for calculating an output correction amount based on the target density and the measuring density in each gradation. An output correction of gradation larger than the boundary gradation value includes a second output correction means for predicting the output correction amount based on the output correction amount in the boundary gradation value and defining the predicted output correction amount as an output correction amount. |
