摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid state image sensor which eliminates the need for interpolating the imaging pixel value at the position of a focus detection pixel, while avoiding increase in the area occupied by individual pixels in the imaging region, and can perform high speed focusing by automatic focusing of phase difference system.SOLUTION: The solid image sensor includes a plurality of imaging pixels 10 arranged in an imaging region 110 and outputting a photoelectric conversion signal obtained by photoelectric conversion of incident light as an imaging signal, and a plurality of focus detection pixels 20a, 20b arranged in the imaging region and outputting a pixel signal obtained by photoelectric conversion of incident light as a focus detection signal. The imaging pixel 10 has a planar shape which produces a gap between adjoining image sensors when a plurality of image sensors are arranged adjacently, and the focus detection pixels 20a, 20b are arranged in the gaps of adjoining image sensors 10.
