PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology enabling reduction in color differences on a screen among blocks without decreasing a contrast more than required when light-emitting luminance of a backlight is controlled for each block.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device has determination means for determining the light-emitting luminance of the backlight for each block on the basis of an input image signal. When the same color area in which an image consisting of same color pixels is displayed is an area straddling a plurality of blocks, and a maximum value of the color differences on the screen between pixels of the same color area in a first block of one block out of the plurality of blocks and pixels of the same color area in a second block of the other block out of the plurality of blocks is a predetermined first threshold value or more, the determination means changes the light-emitting luminance of the backlight in any one of the first block and the second block such that the maximum value becomes the first threshold value or less. |
