PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute an HDD protective function at a proper timing and prevent degradation of the operability of an information processing apparatus for a user.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes an attitude detection unit for detecting the attitude of an apparatus body having a rotary disk storage unit, an operation determination unit that, on the basis of the detected attitude, determines a first operation mode as the normal operation mode of the apparatus body and a second operation mode as the abnormal operation mode of the apparatus body before impact acting on the disk storage unit, and a protective function execution unit that, if the second operation mode is determined, executes the protective function of moving a head from a storage area of the disk storage unit to a retreat position, and if the first operation mode is determined, does not execute the protective function. |
