PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for communicating signalling information allowing increased flexibility, reduced delay, and suitability for base station based scheduling.SOLUTION: User equipment 101 comprises: means 219 for generating scheduling assistance data, for a base station based scheduler, relating to packet data communication; means 211 for transmitting the scheduling assistance data via either a first physical channel associated with a random access procedure or a second physical channel scheduled by a base station; and means 213 for selecting between the first physical channel and the second physical channel for transmitting the scheduling assistance data on the basis of availability of the first physical channel. |
