摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of melt molding germanium high in accuracy and small in the number of post treatment steps.SOLUTION: Molten germanium 10 is charged into molding die inner parts 3b, 4b in an inert gas atmosphere, temperatures of molding dies 3, 4 are externally controlled to solidify germanium gradually and wholly from one part or a plurality of part sides while cooling the molding dies wholly and gradually from one part or a plurality of parts of them, and an external ambient temperature 23 of the molding die is controlled (A4) to be gradually lowered while ensuring the temperature not more than a melting temperature of germanium and higher than a temperature within the molding die to be cooled, and after completion of solidification of germanium, cooling (BC-5) of the molding die is continued and the external ambient temperature is lowered (A5) to mold germanium. Solidification is completed when after cooling is started, the temperature is lowered (BC4-1), temperature rising (BC4-2) is again started and then the temperature turns to be lowered again (BC4-3).
