PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a strip which can readily suppress a flaw from being generated in a film formation surface.SOLUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing a superconductive wire material S having a thin film at least one surface of a tape-like substrate T includes: a substrate conveying part 11 for conveying the superconductive wire material S; a cleaning device 15 for cleaning a non-film forming surface of the conveyed tape-like substrate T; and a substrate reel 21B for subjecting the cleaned superconductive wire material S to lap winding therearound.
