PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder block manufacturing method which can suppress leakage of engine oil in a communication hole to connect an oil path and a recess, and to provide a cylinder block.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a cylinder block 10 having an oil path 20', a recess 30 with a journal arranged therein, threaded holes 40 and 41, and a communication hole H to connect the oil path 20' and the recess 30 includes: a casting step of molding the oil path 20' and prepared holes 40' and 41' of the threaded holes 40 and 41 by casting; and a machining step of allowing a region 42a which is at least closer to a tip side than a region where the threaded hole 40 is formed in the prepared hole 40', to communicate with the recess 30 by mechanical machining, to form the communication hole H for connecting the oil path and the recess via the prepared holes. |
