PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a reduction in the transmission amount of an amplified signal.SOLUTION: A traveling wave amplifier includes: a plurality of input side transmission lines for transmitting an input signal; cascode amplifiers AMP1-AMP3 specific to the input side transmission lines which each have an F_IN terminal connected to one of the input side transmission lines, and amplify and output from an OT terminal the signal input into the F_IN terminal; and a plurality of output side transmission lines specific to the OT terminals for transmitting the signals output from the OT terminals. A plurality of variable capacitive elements VD1 specific to the OT terminals are connected in series between the OT terminals and the output side transmission lines to, by virtue of variable self-capacitances, compensate for variations in output impedances of the cascode amplifiers AMP1-AMP3 varying with increasing amplitude of the signals output from the OT terminals, and transmits the signals to the output side transmission lines. |
